EILEEN – New project under Erasmus+

eileen_sign_skew_greenEILEEN stands for Enhancing Intercultural Learning in European Enterprises and is one of the new projects that have been approved under the new programme Erasmus+. The aim of the project is to promote a welcoming culture in European enterprises, on the one hand, and to promote European mobility of young people, on the other hand.EILEEN project proposes a comprehensive approach which foresees the involvement of professionals working in European enterprises and young unemployed: both groups will be trained on how to cope with cultural diversity in the workplace.

A European course will be organised for at least 18 multipliers in European enterprises who will subsequently apply their new competences and skills in terms of enhancing and validating intercultural competences in their enterprises in the pilot phase. In parallel, training courses for young unemployed people will be organised at national level in the countries involved in the project. Through these learning opportunities young people can gain intercultural competencies and have access to information about the main opportunities to work abroad or do internships.

On 25./26.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA11.2014 the project was officially inaugurated with the kick-off meeting. The representatives of the nine partner organisations met in Göttingen, Germany in order to get to know to each other and to thoroughly plan the first project steps. In the first project phase a comprehensive needs analysis will be carried out in order to explore existing approaches to enhance and validate intercultural competences in European enterprises. For this purpose the EILEEN project team will launch a European online survey – we will publish the invitation in due time also here in the blog.
